Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners Terms and Conditions
Last updated: Friday December 26th 2025.
Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) carefully before booking or using services provided by Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking a service, using our website, or engaging our cleaning services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Services Provided
Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners provides residential and commercial cleaning services, including but not limited to recurring cleaning, deep cleaning, move-in/move-out cleaning, and post-construction cleaning (“Services”).
Only services specifically agreed upon at the time of booking are included. Any additional services requested on-site must be approved and may result in additional charges.
2. Booking & Confirmation
Bookings are considered confirmed once acknowledged by Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners through email, phone, or online booking confirmation. Clients are responsible for providing accurate contact details and access instructions.
3. Pricing Notice & Estimates
All prices quoted by Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners are estimates only and are based on homes that maintain a standard level of cleanliness. If, upon arrival, the condition of the residence is determined to be significantly below average, including but not limited to excessive buildup, heavy clutter, excessive pet hair, or unsanitary conditions, additional charges may apply.
Any pricing adjustments will always be communicated and approved by the Client prior to commencing work. Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners reserves the right to decline service if revised pricing is not accepted.
4. Flat Rate Pricing
Where a flat rate price is quoted and accepted by the Client, that price represents the agreed cost for the scope of service described at the time of booking, regardless of the actual time required to complete the service.
Flat rate pricing is not based on hourly estimates and is not subject to adjustment based on the duration of the cleaning visit. If the cleaning is completed in less time than anticipated, no partial refund, credit, or price adjustment will be issued. If the cleaning requires more time than anticipated due to standard conditions, no additional charge will be applied.
By accepting a flat rate quote, the Client acknowledges and agrees that the price reflects the scope of service, not the hours worked.
5. Pricing Estimates & Walkthrough Adjustments
Estimated cleaning times are provided during phone or online consultations based on experience servicing similar-sized homes. Once cleaners conduct an on-site walkthrough, they may provide a more accurate estimate of time and cost. Any changes will be communicated to the Client before proceeding.
All time and pricing estimates are provided in good faith and should be treated as estimates only, not guarantees.
6. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Accepted payment methods include credit card, e-transfer, or other methods communicated at the time of booking. Failure to submit payment may result in suspension of future services.
7. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners requires a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a cleaning appointment.
If a cancellation or rescheduling occurs with less than 24 hours’ notice, a $45 cancellation fee per cleaner scheduled will be charged to the payment method on file.
This policy ensures our cleaners are fairly compensated for reserved time slots that cannot be filled on short notice, while still offering flexibility to our valued clients.
8. Late Arrival & Access Policy
Cleaner billing time begins at the scheduled and agreed-upon start time.
It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure:
-
They are present at the residence on time, or
-
Proper access is provided (keys, lockbox, access codes, concierge instructions, etc.)
If cleaners are delayed due to lack of access or client lateness, billing time will still begin as scheduled to ensure fair compensation for the cleaners’ reserved time.
9. Move-In and Move-Out Cleaning: Delayed Access and Floating Start Windows
For move-in and move-out cleaning services, access to the property is frequently dependent on third-party timelines, including but not limited to real estate closings, lawyer sign-offs, key transfers, landlord availability, and building elevator bookings.
Where a floating start window is agreed upon by the Client, either verbally or in writing, Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners will dispatch cleaners within that window based on the access timeline provided by the Client. The agreed upon price for the service remains fixed regardless of when within the window the clean begins.
Delays caused by third parties or circumstances outside the control of Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners, including real estate or legal delays, do not entitle the Client to a price reduction, partial refund, or credit.
Where a delayed start results in partial completion of the service due to cleaner scheduling constraints, Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners will make reasonable efforts to return to complete the service at the earliest available opportunity. In such cases, the Client will not be charged additionally for the return visit, provided the original scope has not changed. However, no refund or credit will be issued for the incomplete portion of the service where the delay was caused by factors outside Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners' control.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and timely access updates throughout the day of service. Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the appointment if access is not confirmed within a reasonable time, and applicable cancellation fees may apply.
10. Client Responsibilities
Clients must ensure the residence is safe, accessible, and free from hazards that could pose a risk to cleaners. Pets must be secured, and aggressive animals must not be present during cleaning.
Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in cancellation of services with applicable fees.
11. Cleaner Safety & Working Conditions
Cleaner safety is a top priority. If a cleaner encounters unsafe working conditions, including but not limited to hazardous materials, biohazards, lack of proper safety equipment, aggressive pets or individuals, or any environment deemed dangerous, the cleaner has the right to immediately cease work and notify Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners.
In such cases, services may be cancelled or rescheduled at the Company’s discretion, and applicable charges may still apply.
12. Service Exclusions
For the safety of our cleaners and to ensure quality service, the following items and conditions are not included in any standard or deep cleaning service provided by Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners:
-
Chandeliers and high-mounted light fixtures — due to fragility, height, and specialized handling requirements
-
Fragile, antique, or high-value items — including heirlooms, artwork, collectibles, and delicate decor unless specifically agreed upon in writing prior to service
-
Biohazards — including but not limited to blood, bodily fluids, vomit, used needles, or any material posing a biological risk
-
Pest infestations — including rodents, insects, bedbugs, cockroaches, or any active infestation. Cleaning will not be performed in areas with visible infestation activity
-
Animal waste — including pet urine, feces, litter box contents, rodent droppings, or any animal-related waste
-
Mold and mildew — beyond minor surface cleaning in bathrooms; remediation of significant mold growth requires a licensed specialist
-
Exterior windows — including second-story or higher windows, screens accessed from outside, or any windows requiring ladders beyond standard step stools
-
Hoarding conditions or extreme clutter — environments that prevent safe access or cleaning
Client Disclosure Obligation: Clients are required to disclose, prior to or at the time of booking, any known presence of the conditions listed above. Failure to disclose such conditions may result in:
-
Immediate cessation of service upon discovery
-
Full charge for the scheduled service time
-
Additional fees to cover specialized cleaning, equipment, or health-related expenses incurred by Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners or its staff
-
Suspension or termination of future services
If any excluded condition is discovered upon arrival or during service, the cleaner reserves the right to immediately stop work and leave the premises. Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners will contact the Client to discuss next steps, which may include rescheduling once the condition is remediated by an appropriate professional.
13. Supplies & Equipment
Unless otherwise specified, Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners provides all necessary cleaning supplies and equipment.
If a Client requests the use of their own cleaning products, those products must be clearly labeled and safe for use. Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners is not responsible for damage caused by client-provided products.
14. Liability & Damage Claims
While reasonable care is taken during all cleanings, Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners is not responsible for:
-
Pre-existing damage
-
Normal wear and tear
-
Items not disclosed as fragile, valuable, or delicate
Any damage claims must be reported within 48 hours of service completion. At our discretion, we may repair, replace, or offer a reasonable remedy for verified damage caused directly by our negligence.
15. Photography Consent
The Client acknowledges and agrees that cleaners may take before-and-after photographs of the residence for purposes including training, quality assurance, internal documentation, and marketing.
Photographs will never include personal identifiers, faces, or sensitive personal items and will be used respectfully and in accordance with privacy standards.
Clients who do not consent to photography must notify Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners in writing prior to the scheduled service.
16. Modifications to Terms
Sparkle and Scrub Cleaners reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
